Education
Children are the future. They are future guardians of our fragile Earth.
SheWolf is committed to engaging children and young people with the natural world, through the creative arts. It has been well documented that children's and young people's social, psychological, academic and physical health is positively impacted when they have daily contact with nature yet, today's world is becoming increasingly experienced through a virtual reality, and the opportunity to explore the outdoors in a safe space is becoming more challenged.
Engaging with the natural world in an experiential way, a creative way, SheWolf encourages children and young people to develop a heightened sense of awareness of the world around them. Learning through the body, with the whole body, children and young people engage in a multi sensory experience that enables them to retain information in a more memorable and meaningful way.
When working outdoors children and young people are faced with an uncertain terrain, a landscape and environment that is in constant change. This challenges them in new ways. Engaging in critical thinking, they take an experiential journey of enquiry and reflection that involves problem solving and mitigating risk. As a result, they become more confident in themselves and their relationship to the world around them.
Children and young people engaging in SheWolf work frequently report a sense of calm, relaxation and peace, demonstrating that this work offers an increased sense of well being as well as being a positive reinforcement for healthy and happy lives.
